Dr. Mbuyu Bushidi

I am a Community General Cardiologist with extensive experience in the holistic approach of patients with cardio-vascular diseases assessment and management. My practice involves office-setting works, including outpatient consultation, 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, electrocardiography, cardiac rehabilitation programs post-cardiac surgery, heart attack, as well as for patients with heart failure. My practice also involves hospital setting works, including in-hospital consultations, performing transesophageal echocardiography’s, electrical cardioversions, tilt table tests and stress tests, Holter monitoring test reporting, echocardiography study and reporting, inserting permanent pacemakers and event loop recorders, and reviewing pacemaker interrogation reports.

My clinical interests include the initial assessment of general cardiology medical conditions (arrhythmia, valvular diseases, cardiomyopathies, coronary disease), non-invasive cardiology investigations (indication and interpretation), and investigation of patients with undiagnosed dyspnea and echocardiography (including transthoracic echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography, contrast echocardiography.

  • Certificate Internal Medicine/Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC) (2015).
  • Certificate in Adult Cardiology: College Of Medicine of South Africa (2007).
  • Internal medicine / Fellowship of the College Of Medicine Of South Africa (FCPSA): College of Medicine of South Africa (2003).
  • Post graduate training In internal medicine and cardiology: University of Cape Town ( For Internal Medicine) and University of the Witwatersrand (For Cardiology)( February 1999 to June 2007). Both In South Africa.
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD): Catholic University of Louvain (Belgium) (1995). 
  • Undergraduate medical training and residency/internship: Facultes Universitaires Notre-Dame de la Paix (Belgium) and Catholic University of Louvain (Belgium) (1988-1995)
Loree Wedderburn

Loree Wedderburn

Loree Wedderburn is a registered nurse with more than 37 years of experience. She graduated from the Brandon School of Nursing in 1984. She started her nursing career on a post-op surgical care unit. She then continued her education specializing in critical care nursing.

Loree has 14 years of Emergency/Intensive Care nursing.  For the past 22 years she has been providing care for patient’s requiring cardiac implanted electronic devices. Her passion has always been cardiac disease care. She is a strong believer in continuing education. Delivery of evidence based compassionate care is a priority for her. She is a strong advocate of empowering patients with information to encourage them to engage in the management of their disease process.

Tara Fullerton

Tara joined Bushidi’s Heart Clinic in April 2019. As the practice manager for Bushidi’s Heart Clinic her job is to oversee the office operations and she is committed to making our patient’s and their families experience in our office a positive one!

Tara has over 16 years of experience working in health care as a medical office assistant. She has volunteered with personal care homes with in some of those years. She is excited to provide quality care and experiences at Bushidi’s Heart Clinic.

Aureline Bushidi

Aureline joined Bushidi’s Heart Clinic in January 2024. She is the receptionist at the front desk that will greet you at the time of your appointment and answer all your phone calls. She is excited to be part of the practice.

Aureline has volunteered to number of charity organizations  over the past 5 years with in Brandon and is currently pursuing a degree in early childhood education with in the Brandon University. She looks forward to greeting you upon arrival for your appointment
